2011 Humanitarian Award

James Farrior Foundation

The James Farrior Foundation will be honored at a formal ceremony on November 5th by being the recipient of the Soul Logistics Radio (SLR) Humanitarian award.  The foundation is receiving this recognition based on its community focused work including the “Coats at Christmas” program and the “Tackling Education” programs which include the “Stuff the Bus” initiative. 

Soul Logistics Radio is an original Hip Hop group who put together their own TV show that they tape through the Tri-city area.  SLR is led by Doug Evans, Rodney Stith, and Fat Thomi.  On the TV show, they provide '' Inspiration Plus Information '' with a free mix of local artist, conscious Hip Hop, soul music and informative commentary with a humorous spin. They represent a do-it-yourself attitude that can bring people together check them out each and every Thursday Night 7:30pm, replay Fridays 10pm and 12:30 noontime Saturdays on Comcast Ch3 and Mondays thru Thursdays 3pm on Comcast Ch 95 [ Richmond VA ].

Earlier this year, the foundation received the prestigious 2011 Community Service Award from the Urban League of Greater Richmond.
